Improving delivery and reducing stock-out

Being a national player, VITOGAZ must insure that each of their customers is supplied on time wherever they are in Switzerland (in the alps at 2000m or in the middle of a crowded city like Geneva). They have a long experience of using dispatching software to help improve the use of their trucks.

If you want to add something about « in a country like Switzerland » then better to describe the geography/demography that makes it tricky in Switzerland.

Gathering Data

VITOGAZ has deployed telemetry for more than a decade on their main customers. But deploying telemetry on all their customers only became possible with the arrival of low power network sensors with a very long lifespan (over 10years) with very limited costs of data transmission. To avoid depending on a single hardware producer, VITOGAZ decided to work with us to select the best sensors for them and use our mass deployment platform to reach their target of installing telemetry on each tank by the end of 2021.

End-to-end integrity – from the tank to the decision-maker

VITOGAZ needed a mass deployment application that did not only allow them to deploy the hardware sensor, but also insured them that it was installed on the right tank. Indeed, when you manipulate a few sensors (or a few hundreds) you may remember where each one is. But when you have a few thousand, some of which move around (some tanks are mobile) and you need to monitor them over ten years, then it becomes crucial to be sure that sensor A is installed on tank Z.

Therefore, Brain-it integrates its modules directly to the customer and ensures a two-way stream of data exchange to allow the technician to be sure to install telemetry on the right tank. This also ensures the dispatcher that the data he receives is from the right tank and not from the neighbour.

All applications are designed to show exactly the information that the decision-maker needs to see and know, whether they are a technician, a dispatcher, a customer service employee or even the end customer wanting to see their consumption or the state of their tank.

VITOGAZ Switzerland AG

is the market leader in the Swiss liquefied gas (LPG) market. The key to its success lies in the quality of its products and services and in guaranteeing maximum security for all its services.

The global building automation system market grew 7% in 2018 to total ~ US$ 35 Bn, registering an upward spiral from ~ US$ 33 Bn in
2017, according to the new research study from Future Market Insights.

The report says that Schneider Electric SE, ABB, Siemens AG, Johnson Controls Inc., and Honeywell International Inc. remain the top 5 players in the building automation market, commanding nearly 40% of the global market share.

The analyst is of the opinion that growing investments in smart buildings is one of the key shapers estimate to mould the growth of building automation system market in 2019 and beyond. Despite of having a robust sphere of influence, leading players in the building automation system market will continue to face competition threats from new vendors entering the scenario with newer promises.

The term ‘digital transformation’ has attracted a lot of attention across the manufacturing industry and throughout the media recently. Defined by The Enterprisers Project, digital transformation is “the integration of digital technology into all areas of a business, resulting in fundamental changes to how businesses operate and how they deliver value to customers.”

With digitalisation comes the rise of trends such as Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing and smart factories.

Industry 4.0, also known as the fourth industrial revolution, is all about focusing on connectivity and communication. It presents us with a future where devices are connected so that they can communicate and make smart decisions.

Technology has been increasingly adopted by all major industry sectors over the last several years—and the energy industry is no exception. Tech innovation is no longer associated only with replacement of paperwork with automated electronic systems. The next step is reinvention of the ways that energy and utilities companies do business, engage their customers and interact with them. And let us not forget about Energy 4.0, a buzzword used to denote the digital revolution in this industry.
